International Association of Startups & Incubator (IASI)

IASI is registered as a not-for-profit society under the Societies Registration Act 1860. Its main objective is, “To promote entrepreneurship globally through exchange of information, sharing of experience, and other networking assistance among Incubators, Universities, government authorities and other related organisations, engaged in the promotion of start-up enterprises.”

Today, India stands as one of the major technology hotbeds, offering fascinating opportunities for emerging companies to thrive and establish themselves in the world, with their innovative ideas and unconventional approaches.

With over US$ 7.3 billion investment across 639 deals in 2016 and three to four startups emerging every day, India has paved its way to secure the third position in the world in terms of the number of startups.

In India, 800+ start-ups set up annually and by 2020 it would reach 11500 startups, employing over 250k persons. And therefore, these startups are a perfect mode to take care of unemployment problem in India.

Our goal is to enrich the entire incubator & startups ecosystem by providing industry resources, education, events and networking to better serve the needs of these unique communities.

IASI has an abundance of expertise and knowledge base in Technology Business Incubation. A unique feature is its diversity, with member organisations coming from Academic Institutions/ Universities/Corporate of repute such as IIM, IIT, AIIMS, JNU, DU, IISC, GRC India, Ennoble IP etc. Further, virtually every emerging technology sector are addressed beginning with ICT and covering Life Sciences, Electronics, Design, Agri-Business, Manufacturing, Textiles etc. by the Incubator members.

The main activities of IASI include:

  • To promote innovation based enterprises
  • Conduct an annual conference that brings together Incubators and other players of the start-up eco-system for networking, experience sharing and new learnings
  • Advocacy initiatives with Central and State Central government on policy, regulatory frameworks, incubation development etc.
  • To forge a close linkage between universities, academic and R&D institutions on one hand and industry on the other
  • Providing facilitation and escort services to establish more Entrepreneurship Development Centres and Business Incubators in the country
  • IASI Awards – an annual awards programme for recognising outstanding achievements of startups and ventures from the member fold
